Inter-Care's approach to intervention is one that fully involves the family. Our model is invitational, whereby the entire family -- not just one family member singled out as the "identified patient" -- is engaged in the intervention process. All participating family members focus on both individual issues and shared concerns. Unlike earlier intervention models, there is no secrecy, conspiracy or "surprise party." Everyone is fully involved from the start and everyone grows from the intervention experience.

It takes one concerned individual to end dysfunction and begin growth. Intervention is a dynamic process that brings together family members to help family members. This approach works through care and concern, moving the family to accept both the reality of its condition as well as the help needed to ensure continuing recovery. The chemically-dependent person gets the help he or she needs and family members receive the help they need, learning how to better manage their familial roles during treatment and throughout recovery.

The start of recovery is immediate! That is, recovery begins when the first family member makes the decision to seek help. Scheduling a family intervention session is the beginning. Intervention and treatment are separate activities, yet they are linked in the process of recovery. The treatment plan will always be individualized, and Inter-Care is committed to the recovery process, including family recovery. While the Identified Patient requires treatment for chemical dependency, involvement of the entire family is important if full recovery is to be expected. The professional staff at Inter-Care will schedule an appointment, usually within twenty-four hours.

Inter-Care conducts interventions in all fifty states and all six continents. Our professionally-trained staff of clinicians works within all cultures, including those where English may not be the primary language spoken. We also have the resources to quickly establish treatment availability wherever the need.
