The INTER-CARE mission is to provide the highest standard of outpatient substance abuse and mental health treatment using an individually tailored, biopsychosocial model of evidence-based approaches to meet the patient and their significant others where they are ready to begin the process of change.
INTER-CARE is a New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) licensed treatment service provider for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders, offering a broad range of outpatient services. Serving the addiction community for over 30 years, our focus is on long-term recovery and personal growth for the individual and the family. We provide the professional care and support, experience, and tools that give our clients the ability to take on life's daily challenges.
INTER-CARE was founded in 1989 by Vincent Casolaro and Robert Smith. They chose the name INTER-CARE to signify a broad continuum of services, from Intervention to Aftercare. With a team of dedicated addiction professionals, INTER-CARE grew from a small clinical practice into a multi-service treatment facility. In 2001, INTER-CARE continued its expansion through a merge with NRL Resources outpatient treatment program and introduced Nicholas R. Lessa, MA, LCSW, CASAC as a partner.
Since 2008, INTER-CARE has been guided by Nick Lessa, Maria Rowie Gross and Laura Lessa who are committed to ensuring INTER-CARE’s high standard of quality care and maintaining its reputation as an industry leader.
